The College of Alberta Psychologists (the “College”) is the governing body for registered psychologists and registered provisional psychologists as regulated members in the province of Alberta. In this section the term “psychologist” refers to members in both of these categories.
This section provides information and resources to address concerns about the conduct of a psychologist.
Before making a formal complaint to the College, it may be useful to discuss the issues with the psychologist concerned. In some circumstances, you and the psychologist may be able to come to a mutually agreed-upon resolution.
You may contact the College’s Complaints Director prior to making a formal complaint. The Complaints Director may be able to provide information and suggestions concerning the process and alternative resolution options. The complaint process is an important part of ensuring quality and accountability in the provision of psychological services to the Alberta public.
